The month of\u00a0September\u00a0<\/strong>is especially important for the Cabra\u2019s people because of its\u00a0September Fair<\/strong>.\u00a0At the beginning of this month, between the 3rd and 8th,\u00a0the Virgen de la Sierra Fair\u00a0<\/strong>is held, the great Cabra\u2019s fair, declared a\u00a0Festival\u00a0of National Tourist Interest in 1972\u00a0<\/strong>.\u00a0Day 3rd begins with the\u00a0Preg\u00f3n <\/strong>(Opening speech)\u00a0<\/strong>and the\u00a0proclamation of the\u00a0Queen of the Festivities\u00a0<\/strong>and the\u00a0Maid of Honor.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We can highlight as the most critical moments on September 4 with the Descent of the Virgin from her Chapel<\/strong>, the Sanctuary of Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Sierra<\/strong>, located in the Picacho de la Sierra de Cabra, of great archaeological and landscape value;\u00a0and the solemn\u00a0procession on September 8.\u00a0<\/strong>Also, during these days, the colorful Battle of Flowers\u00a0<\/strong>takes place, on September 5, and the enjoyment of all Cabra\u2019s people and visitors in the\u00a0Real of the Fair<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The town of\u00a0Cabra\u00a0<\/strong>also has a remarkable\u00a0architectural legacy\u00a0<\/strong>and in its\u00a0old town it\u00a0<\/strong>has unique neighborhoods of special relevance, such as the\u00a0Barrio de la Villa\u00a0<\/strong>or the\u00a0Barrio del Cerro<\/strong>, which can be enjoyed and visited at any time of the year.\u00a0Strolling through the old town will allow us to admire architectural monuments that are also worth a visit for their unique characteristics.\u00a0We highlight the\u00a0Church of Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Asunci\u00f3n y los \u00c1ngeles\u00a0<\/strong>(13th century), located in the center of the old town and built on an old Muslim mosque, or the\u00a0Church of San Juan Bautista\u00a0<\/strong>(16th century), attached to the convent formerly ruled by the\u00a0Hermanos de San Juan de Dios\u00a0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0nature\u00a0<\/strong>is an intrinsic part of the town Cabra<\/strong>, as shown by\u00a0the presence of the\u00a0natural setting of Source of the River<\/strong>, the spring where the Cabra River is\u00a0born and from which in Roman times supplied water to the people through an aqueduct.\u00a0From\u00a0Fuente del R\u00edo\u00a0<\/strong>you can access the\u00a0Via Verde de la\u00a0Subb\u00e9tica\u00a0<\/strong>via a path.\u00a0The place stands out for the combination of the\u00a0Karst nature\u00a0<\/strong>of the land combined with the\u00a0ornamentation of the gardens\u00a0<\/strong>created around it.<\/p>\n

As we mentioned at the beginning, the\u00a0Sierra de Cabra\u00a0<\/strong>has a\u00a0great\u00a0geological\u00a0value <\/strong>that is\u00a0<\/strong>highly appreciated by both\u00a0experienced\u00a0hikers\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0visitors\u00a0<\/strong>who want to enjoy\u00a0nature.\u00a0<\/strong>The area has a wide range of\u00a0rural houses\u00a0<\/strong>to enjoy for a few days its beautiful surroundings, the town and the friendliness of its people.<\/p>\n
